CTRL is delighted to announce the arrival of Jane Ward, our new personal injury lawyer.
Jane has many years of experience as a personal injury lawyer primarily in the marine sector. After admission as a solicitor following training with a large firm in Bristol, she spent four further years there doing a mix of claimant and defendant personal injury work. Having settled in Plymouth in 1990 she joined a specialist maritime law firm to undertake primarily defendant personal injury work with most instructions coming to her via the International Group P&I clubs. She was a founding partner of specialist marine firm Davies Johnson & Co and its managing partner for 16 years.
Since giving up her management role in 2013, she has been able to concentrate on her case load which has continued to grow. Whilst all of the personal injury claims which she handles have an English or Welsh connection there is often a foreign element or an issue which goes beyond the basic questions of liability and quantum, such as interpretation of a contractual indemnity clause enabling the claim or part of it to be passed on to a third party.
Jane is a qualified mediator and, although she is not currently accepting appointments to act as mediator, she finds the skills she gained during the training and subsequent practice to be invaluable when resolving claims in a timely and cost effective way. She also speaks reasonable German and French.
Jane’s personal injury expertise allows us to add to the shipping claims and legal services already offered by CTRL. Please join us in welcoming Jane to the team.
